Arts Canterbury exist to support local artists and art-related businesses to grow, thrive and connect with one another. Arts Canterbury’s website plays an instrumental role in attracting new members, advertising events, sharing resources and showcasing local artists.
Our task was to overhaul the existing website, that primarily functioned as an art directory, and create a sophisticated, high-functioning site that truly services the art community.
Our design process largely consisted of establishing the look and feel of the Arts Canterbury brand with a long-term lens. We identified key ways we could build upon the current online directory: building up a resource library for artists to develop in their craft and sales, creating a simple methods of uploading and advertising events, making membership sign-ups a seamless process, and building strategic sales pages that effectively market Arts Canterbury memberships.
Alongside the developed functionality and user-experience of the site, we created built-in backend forms for Arts Canterbury staff to quickly and easily upload new artists, events and resources. This not only provides Arts Canterbury ownership over their own website, but easily saves their team hours of admin time each week.
The result is a modern, user-friendly website that provides real value to the local art community, fostering sales, connection and growth.
